Welcome
Thank you for allowing us the chance to present a very real and unique opportunity to change the lives of others for the better and make a measurable difference to wonderful and worthy causes.
We are excited to present our plans for the Bradford Dragon Boat Festival 2020, and with the help of your valued contribution we are aiming to get to our target of raising £30,000 to put this festival on.
Meeting this goal is vitally important to bring about the very basic needs and structure of the festival. Note that The Bradford Dragon Boat Festival is run by volunteers in their own valuable time.

The Event
The Event is the Bradford Dragon Boat Festival. The Festival is split over three days and six events.
Day 1 is the Youth Championships.
This is two events of set categories. The day race is 33 teams of Primary, Junior and Senior. The evening race is 12 teams of Junior and Senior. Teams of up yo 20, race a precise length, paddling in unison and precision to their drummers beat. Each team has a minimum of three races with the fastest overall times qualify the top for a fourth race to determine the final podium positions. The fastest time on the day is the winner… Teams are racing themselves to beat themselves, others are just in the way.
All teams are encouraged to raise money and awareness for the Lord Mayor’s nominated charities.
The last three years we have welcomed our Team GB U25’s showcasing the sport and participating.
On site there are other attractions, stalls and food as well as stage perfomrnaces. Most of these performances are from the youth organisations involved.
Day 2 is the Lord Mayor’s Championships.
This is a similar outlay to Day . The day race is 33 teams, open category. The evening race is 12 teams of pros and semi-pros. Teams of up to 20, race a precise length, paddling in unison and precision to their drummers beat. Each team has a minimum of three races with the fastest overall times qualify the top for a fourth race to determine the final podium positions. The fastest time on the day is the winner.
All teams are encouraged to raise money and awareness for the Lord Mayor’s nominated charities.
The last three years we have welcomed our Team GB U25’s showcasing the sport and participating. We also had the BBC, Pulse1 and Pulse2, Telegraph and Argus and other notable organisations taking part, and returning this year to defend their media cup.
On site there are other attractions, stalls and food as well as stage perfomrnaces. Live Music brought by the Pulse and Mama Hoodoo. Today Bars will be open.
Day 3 is the Multi-Charity Championships.
This is the same layout as Day 2.
All teams are fired up to raise money and awareness for their own Charities.

Who's involved?

Our Audience
Why get involved?
So far, over 5 years, we have enjoyed an attendance of over 150,000 and raised over £150,000 for local good causes (registered and recognised charities).
Combining the media partner reach, we have reached over 1.5million.the circulation reach of the above plus our media supporters (SAMAATV, GEO, Boosts, celebrity stage acts all excluded)
We have numerous partners and contributors with us within and beyond the Bradford District. With these contacts and the spectators and social media, we are confident we can reach 2.5 million in 2020. This year we aim to see 135 teams, over 2500 participants, over 50,000 in attendance… and we’re aiming to raise a record breaking £100,000 for good causes this year!
Your sponsorship goes towards festival infrastructure and we can offer you positive exposure in return.
As a company, your involvment ticks all your Corporate Social Responsibility boxes. It’s a charity event and raises fantastic awareness through multiple arms of the media for some great causes and all their supporters. So it’s a no brainer really.

Corporate Social Responsibility
The Bradford Dragon Boat Festival presents a fantastic opportunity for businesses and organisations not just to showcase their dragon boating talent and skills but to actively show how they support their local community through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy.
CSR is about companies and organisations taking responsibility and playing their part in society by giving back to that very society. A large part of that is through fundraising for worthy causes or supporting the community/organisations/initiatives that are doing just that.
If everyone works together, companies, customers and communities can and will thrive, and relationships with stakeholders at all levels will be strengthened. Working with brilliant organisations who take their CSR seriously (look at the logos of some of those we are working with), the Bradford Dragon Boat Festival has grown rapidly in just 4 years and has brought the whole community together as one big team. The ‘feel good factor’ is spreading to neighbouring cities bringing in more tourists and strengthening the local economy.
Our young people are also becoming more engaged and some are starting to represent our country in international competitions. Not only do we now have local pride but also national pride! By supporting the Festival you are investing in our society and play a vital part in helping to improve opportunity, inclusion and health and wellbeing of our community.
Thank you for being a CSR Champion and
Welcome to the team!
